About Carole

Homes that hold who you’re becoming

I’m Carole Crowe, an interior designer based in Whitley Bay, working across the North East and remotely. I design from the inside out, translating how you want to live and feel into flow, function, proportion, light, storage, materials and detail, so your home works as beautifully as it looks.

What makes this different

Renovations are not just practical. They are personal. They bring decisions, disruption, and often differing tastes into the same room.

My work blends high emotional intelligence with expert spatial thinking. I hold the vision, lead decisions calmly, and act as the bridge when there are multiple voices, competing priorities, or decision fatigue. That is how a home becomes cohesive, not just room by room, but as one story you can live inside.

  • Supported through decision-heavy moments, with a clear next step and a designer who can lead.

  • Less second-guessing, because the vision is held and the process is clear.

  • Different tastes brought into one cohesive whole, without anyone feeling overridden.

  • Calm through complexity, because both the emotional and practical sides are being held.

Depth, structure and calm leadership

Before I became an interior designer, my career took me through three distinct worlds: creativity, leadership and emotional depth.

I began in the creative world, studying art and design, gaining an HND in photography, and travelling widely from a young age. That early exposure to people, places and environments shaped my eye and still influences how I see space today.

I then spent 15 years working in the railway industry, progressing into senior leadership roles across operations, customer experience and continuous improvement. That experience shaped the way I think and lead: with structure, clarity, high standards and a calm approach to complexity.

After redundancy, while pregnant with my son, I trained in person-centred counselling, receiving a commendation for my foundation degree, and later practised as a counsellor. That training continues to influence how I work with clients today through deep listening, emotional intelligence, respect and compassionate clarity.

I later moved into senior management in premium hospitality, leading a high-end spa and leisure operation. That role deepened my understanding of atmosphere, standards, experience and the way environments make people feel, while strengthening the leadership and operational skills I still bring to every project today.

I retrained as an interior designer during Covid and founded Carole Crowe Interior Design in March 2021. As a BIID Associate member, I bring the same high standards to every project, regardless of scale.

Together, all of this gives you a designer who translates feeling into structure, someone who can hold the vision, lead the decisions and deliver a home that works as beautifully as it looks.

My work has been featured in Elle Decoration, Luxe Magazine and Highlife North.

How I work

The result is a home that feels calm and cohesive, works beautifully in real life, and holds everyone in it.

My process is staged and intentionally calm. Each stage creates clarity, reduces overwhelm, and protects the integrity of the design.

You can expect:

  • A clear direction rooted in how you want to live and feel

  • Space planning that supports your daily rhythm, not just the photos

  • A cohesive scheme that bridges different tastes and holds together as one home

  • Technical clarity, so the design can be delivered properly

  • Calm leadership, so decisions feel held and confident

Who I work with

I work with individuals, couples and families who are in a next chapter season and want a home that supports the life they’re stepping into.

Often, clients come to me when decisions feel heavy, the house feels unsettled, or different tastes need bringing into one cohesive whole.

That might mean a renovation, reworking key rooms, or bringing flow and cohesion to what you already have. Whether this is a forever home or the home that needs to hold you now, the aim is the same: calm, freedom and joy, created through thoughtful design that works beautifully in real life.
