Fort Quesnard | The Elegant Social Snug
Remote Interior Design – Channel Islands | Carole Crowe
This project proves that soulful design knows no distance. Working entirely remotely, Carole connected with Sheila to reimagine a space that had long felt unbalanced, transforming it into a refined, welcoming snug for entertaining, relaxing, and expressing personality.
A Room That Needed More
The space felt off-balance and unresolved. Sheila knew it needed warmth and cohesion, but couldn’t quite picture the transformation. What she really wanted was a room with personality, somewhere to read, sip a drink, host friends, or sit in peace by the fire.
Carole gently led the way, blending intuition, deep listening, and colour confidence to unlock the room’s potential.
Designed for Social Ease and Everyday Calm
There’s no TV in this space, just music, books, and conversation. With luxury velvet sofas, handcrafted Italian lamp bases, and timeless layered styling, the room now flows with comfort and elegance.
It’s a place that invites connection while offering moments of solitude. It honours rhythm, hosting, and slow living, all within a jewel-toned, luxurious palette designed to lift and ground in equal measure.
Distance Didn’t Diminish the Magic
Even though the process was fully remote, the emotional connection was immediate. Through regular check-ins, visual boards, and deep discovery, Carole guided Sheila through every decision, helping her explore options she never would have chosen alone.
“Carole really listened to my ideas, then pushed me gently out of my comfort zone - something I’m so glad she did! Her eye for detail is amazing… nothing was ever too much trouble.”

This is what remote design can be - deeply personal, beautifully intentional, and full of soul.
