Modern interior design. I believe that we are all unique and that our home should be the place where we recognise ourselves and feel completely at home.
Above all, it should be the space that reflects every part of us, a place where we can entertain, relax, work and truly be yourself.
Together we will go on a design journey, digging beneath the surface to really understand your practical needs, style preferences, and how you want to feel in the space. I then translate this into a timeless, functional, stunning interior that works perfectly and tells your story.
Delivering a wow moment as you enter, but then entices you to relax and rejuvenate in your happy space, your home.
Discovery Call & Questionnaire
It’s important that we connect and the connection between the interior designer and client is the key to getting it right. With this in mind, all journeys start with a no obligation call or site visit* to explore if we’re a good fit.
On the call we’ll discuss your interior design needs, aspirations and how I can help you create a home to be proud of.
Each journey is unique, and I will always quote for a bespoke service to ensure you are getting the best value for your project, you’ll also have access to my trade discounts allowing you to re-coup some of the design costs.
If we both agree that we want to work together, your design journey can begin, and we will sign a contract and book in the design consultation.
Finally, I will send you a questionnaire for you to start to explore your style, needs and wants in preparation of the consultation. Furthermore, I will ask you to start to collect images to post to a Pinterest board. An invoice will be sent prior to the Design Consultation, which must be paid in advance to confirm the appointment.
Design Consultation & Concept Development
All projects start with a design consultation.
It’s a consultation online or in person where we work through a questionnaire allowing us to dig beneath the surface to really understand your practical needs, style preferences and most importantly how you want to feel in your space.
This will help you to explore what you wish to achieve from your project and help me to make your vision a reality. I’ll also take some photos and measurements of your room.
After that I then go quiet, as this information is then dissected and researched to create a style expression board which sets the concept for your story and makes sure we’re on the right path.
The style expression board shows the overall look and feel of the scheme, is made up of inspirational images, sketches, quotes and will steer the design of your overall scheme.
Modern Interior Design Development
Once your style expression concept is confirmed, l then delve further into your scheme to evolve your concept and create a bespoke interior design proposal that reflects your personality and tells your story.
With my support I will help you with budget decisions and deciding on your main focus. After that, you’ll receive a scaled floor layout, furniture plan, colour scheme, options for wall and floor finishes with samples. Furniture, lighting, and soft furnishing mood-boards all to help bring your scheme to life.
Finally, at the end of this stage is the first big reveal. You will see the interior design proposal for your room scheme bringing your design story to life.
Depending on what package you have chosen you can end your design journey here and the design will be handed over to you. You’ll receive all mood board proposals along with a summary and a list of recommended retailers. This will guide you in making all of the final choices along with sourcing all fixtures and furnishings, giving you confidence to complete the project yourself.
Modern Interior Design - Technical Development
As your design journey continues, you’ll have my on-going support. We’ll start to add the detail to your story with developed technical drawings and 3D renders.
Most importantly, you will start to see and feel what your scheme will look like. I’ll develop all lighting plans, designs for bespoke joinery, decorators spec, basically all drawings to ensure the trades can deliver your room as we have specified. Sample boards will be created so that you can experience the finishes enabling you to feel the textures, colours and finishes of your new room.
At the end of this stage, you will be able to see exactly what your finished interior scheme will look and feel like. Above all, taking the stress out of costly mistakes and ensures you get the room that you’ve always dreamed of.
Implementation Management
We’re almost at the end of the journey and your finished story, how far you go with me just depends on if you’ve opted for me to project manage your scheme.
The complete interior design package gives you access to all my trade discounts, saving you money and allowing you to recoup some of the design costs. I will source everything on your behalf and organise delivery. Furthermore, I will brief your trades using the technical drawings, making sure they understand the design and what’s expected. Then it’s up to you to organise everyone to deliver the work and check the quality.
Project Management
If you’ve opted for me to project manage the delivery of your story, then you’re in good hands.
I will take responsibility for managing the whole project taking the stress away from you. I’ll source trades, manage the tender process, keeping you up to date throughout the whole process. In addition with meeting the trades to check the quality and progress of the project. Finally I will manage the sourcing and delivery of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment, allowing you to take advantage of my trade discounts.
Upon completion of the project, I will issue a certificate for practical completion and then prepare a schedule of defects.
Most importantly, I will manage this process through to completion, delivering a timeless, functional, stunning interior that works perfectly and tells your story. Creating your wow moment as you enter, but then entices you to kick off your shoes to relax and rejuvenate in your happy space, your home.
